EVIL DEAD REVIEW

Evil Dead is grisly, relentless and chilling with a creepiness that puts you at unease for all the film. While the cuts show in the UK version, the gore is still effectively brutal. The continuing panic of the characters as their friends slip one by one under the control of the demonic forces ups the suspense while Raimi's bizarre but ingenious camera work is a marvel. Like The Blair Witch Project after, this is a key horror film in keeping you at scared when the supernatural strikes in the woods. Spectacular.
