ABDUCTED TO SWITZERLAND

Fond memories of Andreas and Martin:

In a letter written to Andreas for his 13th birthday, shortly before his illegal retention in Switzerland: "I want to tell you how happy you have made me and how great it's been watching you grow.  You have always been special to me, from the time you were the little football in my arms, to the little boy on his first hike with puffy the paper blow fish.  I will always remember the special times".

Martin, I was never so proud of him as when he was only five years old and we were on a family outing. When I asked if anyone wanted to go on to the top of the Mt. St. Helena, Martin popped up and said, "I wanna go!" It was the first time I hiked to the top of a mountain with one of my sons.

Martin (5 and a half years old) celebrating his first time on the top of Mt. St. Helena.  He walked the whole ten miles without ever complaining, even though we had to make a final dash to the cars to miss the rain showers and the fall of darkness, Easter Sunday 1995.

Martin as a toddler always had great balance and loved to play games with dad in which I would swing him around in all kinds of fun ways.  Eating his apple while standing on my hands was just as normal to him as sitting at the table to eat.
