Pond Diary -- Page 2 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

These pictures were taken on Friday, July 28. Resolution isn't great, but you can get the idea. The picture to the left is from the road looking toward the back yard. The picture below is from above the pond toward the road. Back-filling has been pretty well completed, now fieldstone is to be added as an edging. Plants will then be added -- tall butterfly weeds for the bog pond, lower plants for the main pond. We will be adding a few water hyacinths and then some gold fish. We'll keep you posted!
Sunday 8/6, plants were purchased and placed in the pond. A pot of blue/white iris and a butterfly weed were placed in the bog pond. The main pond received a water hyacinth, parrots beak and two other plants (can't remember their names now -- will get them, though). I hope to have pictures soon. I will also be adding goldfish this week rather than koi because I don't know if the pond will be deep enough for them to over-winter.
