Pond Diary -- Page 5

On Saturday, 8-12, more rocks were purchased and placed around the pond.  I also bought some elodea, an oxygenating plant.  As Kate and I were working on the best placement of each stone (she would constantly walk down to the road, then around the pond to get all possible angles) a friend brought over a new plant for us.  This went through a series of moves {similar to the first time furniture is placed in a room ("that corner; no on the ledge; now try it in the well...")} before finally finding its home in the back right corner (when viewed from the road).

The main difficulty now (artistically, at least) is trying to determine how best to disguise the watercourse/waterfall.  With all of the rock, it REALLY looks as "plastic-y" as it is.  It didn't look out of place before, but now...  Oh, well, we can think about that one for a while.

The bog filter is working amazingly well, as the water was VERY murky on Friday, but was clear enough by Sunday morning (8-13) that we could easily see the texture of the bottom of the pond.
