Glory came on the air on the
air and went straight to the action, no long winded opening in-ring segment and no waffle from the announcers booth ... tonight Glory is all about action and the GCW Super Middleweight Championship Tournament - which will see it's first ever Champion crowned right here tonight as 8 of the best under-249 lbs wrestlers in GCW go full throttle.

GCW Super-Middleweight Championship Tournament - 1st Round Match

"The Juice" Juventud Guerrera vs Sean Waltman

This was more your typical Cruiserweight match, a fast paced affair with high spots galore, which certainly got the crowd involved. It was a darn good match infact with both men's styles meshing off the others but in the end Sean Waltman landed the X-Factor on Juvi to progress to the Semi-Finals and both men got very nice ovations from the appreciative crowd afterwards.

Winner By Pinfall @ 07:23 Sean Waltman

GCW Super-Middleweight Championship Tournament - 1st Round Match

"The Machine" Doug Basham vs "The Anarchist" Doug Williams

Quite a technical, alebit stiff, little match we had here between two men who are better known for their exploits in Tag Team wrestling in GCW - Basham with CW Anderson in the Mean Machines and Williams with Paul Birchall in the GCW World Tag Team Champions, The Pitbull Suicide Squad.

It was infact the PSS who eliminated the Mean Machines last to win the titles last week on Glory, so Basham certainly had revenge on his mind and as such the tight, neat technical bout soon de-generated into an all-out brawl that ended in a DDQ when the referee just lost all control of the bout and left them to fight into the crowd.

DDQ @ 04:48 - Neither Wrestler Advances

GCW Super-Middleweight Championship Tournament - 1st Round Match

Shelton Benjamin vs "The White Angel" Hakushi

If we thought Waltman-Juvi was good, then this match took tonights action up a level as Benjamin and Hakushi put forth a mini-classic of a bout full of inovative offence from both men. The finish came when Benjamin stepped back from a Hand-Spring Elbow attempt from the man from the Orient and after a quick kick to the gut nailed his T-Bone Suplex to record an impressive victory.

Winner By Pinfall @ 06:10 Shelton Benjamin

GCW Super-Middleweight Championship Tournament - 1st Round Match

Nick Dinsmore vs Disco Inferno

A clash of personalities here as the brash, cocky Disco took on the quite, intense Dinsmore and the result was some comedy gold as Dinsmore played the annoyed straight man to Disco's fun-loving showman perfectly resulting in various situations which had the crowd in fits of laughter but Dinsmore was laughing when he was ultimately eliminated from the Tournament thanks to a Chart Buster from Disco.

Winner By Pinfall @ 03:30 Disco Inferno

Advances into 7-UP Lumberjack Match for the World Championship

Cue backstage, where are in The Council's debate room, and Jim Cornette is stood talking to Shawn Michaels and Mike Awesome.

He tells both of them, as they know, they will face off tonight with the winner earning the No.1 Contendership to Brock Lesnar and the GCW World Championship and wished them both luck.

Michaels says he doesn't need luck, he creates his own, but wishes Awesome a good luck and a nice clean match and shakes hands.

Tag Team Match

Team 3-DTeam 3-DKronik

Team 3-D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) vs Kronik (Brian Adams & Bryan Clark)

Team 3-D came out firing after Kronik's poor sense of sportsmanship saw them return to the ring to eliminate the former Dud's from the World Tag Team Championship match last week. Obviously they where not happy at all and dominated Kronik from start to finish, but unfortunately for Team 3-D the finish came a little too soon as Kronik walked from the match to give Team 3D a Countout victory that left them with a sour taste.

Winners @ 04:07 By Countout Team 3-D

GCW Super-Middleweight Championship Tournament - Semi-Final Match

Sean Waltman vs Bye

As a result of the Basham-Williams DDQ, Waltman recieved a bye straight into the final.

GCW Super-Middleweight Championship Tournament - Semi-Final Match

Shelton Benjamin vs Disco Inferno

Disco again impressed in this bout, but Benjamin just had a counter for everything he threw at him and after a tidy match disposed of him with a Missile Dropkick to advance into the Final against Sean Waltman.

Winner By Pinfall @ 07:11 Shelton Benjamin

Singles Match - Hardcore Rules NO DQ/Falls Count Anywhere

"The Vampire Warrior" Gangrel vs Raven

Fresh off his win over Crowbar on B-Show HELL Gangrel was certainly up for this one, while Raven meanwhile seemed sub-dued - maybe perhaps it was depression setting in after his loss to Chris Kanyon and clash with Terry Funk in South Florida Wrestling recently, but after taking a bit of a beating from the Vampire Warrior the sight of his own blood seemed to awake him and from out of nowhere he planted an Evenflow DDT onto a steel chair to take home the victory.

With Raven slumped in his corner, hardly celebrating his win, the lights suddenly went out and when they came back on a Black Baseball Bat was now rested against the ring ropes next to him. Slightly bemused Raven picks up the bat and just stares at it....

Winner By Pinfall @ 05:53 Raven

Singles Match - No.1 Contenders Match for the GCW World Championship

"The Gladiator" Mike Awesome vs The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels

The match was 90% all Mike Awesome as HBK bounced around like a rag-doll for the Gladiator, not wanting to get too close or atempt too much offence, just trying to eventually wear the big man down.

This did not seem to work however, as HBK's body looked like it would fail before Awesom'e stamina did, but in a move we haven't seen the like of from Shawn Michaels in recent years - with Awesome setting Michaels up for a Powerbomb, he grabbed something from his tights and sprayed Awesome with what looked like Pepper Spray from out of the referee's line of vision.

With Awesome disorientated, temporarily blinded and nearly puking-up, Michaels stamped his foot and circling behind his foe landed a right on the button Sweet Chin Music for a clinical 1-2-3.

The crowd where booing Shawn, but he didn't seem to care, he had the No.1 Contendership and thats all that mattered to him.

Winner By Pinfall @ 12:03 Shawn Michaels

GCW Super-Middleweight Championship Tournament - Final Match

Shelton Benjamin vs Sean Waltman

The Glory main-event was the Final of the Super-Middleweight Tournament and it didn't disapoint with Benjamin trying to pick off the smaller Waltman with various Suplexes, takedown and submission moves and Waltman trying to up the pace with various ariel assaults and some stiff kicks.

The finish came when Bejmain caught Waltman coming off the top and then quickly followed up with a Fisherman's Suplex, which Waltman nearly kicked out of, but not soon enough as Benjamin took the three count and the GCW Super-Middleweight Championship after a great Tournament.

After the match Waltman shook hands with Benjamin and lifted his arm in victory, as both men respected each others abilities - Waltman pointed to the strap though and motioned he wanted a rematch to which Shelton gladly nodded his head and accepted.

Winner By Pinfall @ 14:08 and NEW GCW Super-Middleweight Champion Shelton Benjamin
