Here are some pictures of David's track being built and the first slot-together.
We are in the process of routing the track. Eugene is manning the shop vac to clean the slots after routing.
David and Eugene getting dusty doing some of the routing.
We were going to make part of the track removable so the road course could be converted to an oval. However, we made the sections fit too well with no gap in the fit. The tight fit caused the MDF to start to delaminate so David made the track into a permanent road course. Maybe we will perfect it on the next track.
Here is the track after David did all the finish work. He painted it with latex floor enamel and taped it with 3/16" copper tape. David primarily uses the track for racing Tjets but also wanted to run 1/32 cars on two lanes. This is the track at the first get together.
Eugene (on the left) and David hard at work cranking out Tjets while Eugene's daughter, Jennifer, puts then through their paces.
David's track turned out great! It is a real blast to race the Tjets. We also had some good head to head racing with some 1/32 RTRs as well. Now we have another track in our circuit with hopes of having some more in our area.
