Note: This is an actual letter column. All submitted letters have been left intact, including the letter writer's ID's and addresses. My rationale is that if you're sending a letter to a comic book editor with your name and address, it's part of the public domain at that point. However, if you, the reader, are one of the writers, and you'd like your name and address removed, please e-mail me and it'll be removed.
Readers should note that words following the text of letters in bold type are the editor's replies.

Welcome to the third titanic issue of BIKER MICE FROM MARS! The reaction to our first issue was an unqualified success despite the fact that it came out before the first episode even aired on TV! Creator Rick Ungar has even more excitement planned for future episodes of the comic and TV show! Now, let's see what YOU thought of BIKER MICE #1...Keep them cards and letters comin'!

Best Regards, Mort

Dear Mort,
BIKER MICE FROM MARS may quite possibly be Marvel's oddest debut of 1993. I was admittedly skeptical, but heck! For a buck fifty, what was there to lose? Rick Ungar and Bob Forward have some crazed ideas. I'm really awaiting #2, because I want to see in true comic book fashion what makes these characters rick, as well as more offbeat humor. That, of course, is something which the very title of this comic depends on. Just avoid turning all the mayhem into an ecological parable; a trap that most cartoons on the air today fall into. Even Marvel's own X-MEN show has been viewed as having been created for the purpose of teaching people tolerance towards other races and creeds. If the BIKE RMICE remain humorous, odd and kooky, readers will be attracted to the trio, like I was. One question: When will see more of Mars, where they hail from? Any Martians hanging loose over there that you know of?
Starting with the painted cover, the artwork on this issue was a surprising teat. Penciller Rurik Tyler seems born for this book, as it combines funny animal styling (don't tell Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie that I said so!) with, well, i can't think of what! Another member of the team who deserves more credit than one would think is Gary Fields. His unique lettering as well as the inks that defined Rurik's pencils were great! Keep up the zany work!

Thanks for the compliments from one of comicdom's most prolific letter writers, Joey! Starting next issue we'll have a three-part back up story featuring the Biker Mice ON Mars, before they hit our fair planet.

Dear Mr. Todd,
All right, are you guys at Marvel after all my allowance? First BARBIE, then BARBIE FASHION, then X-MEN ADVENTURES. Now...BIKER MICE. Do you want me to get my mom to just send my allowance direct? What is a girl to do, cut out REN & STIMPY?...Not a chance!
Just kidding. I don't buy any Marvel comics. I don't have to, my mom and dad buy them for me. Way back in the summer of '92 I was a slow reader, s my parents started buying me comics. It's working. Now I can write letters too, with a bit of help. Ride Free, pass "go", too!

Your parents sound pretty cool, Jessi Lynn. Who sez comix ain't edjikashunal?! Also, tell them to save up their Canadian coins, 'cause we're planning a new comic by REN & STIMPY creator John Kricfalusi, called (wouldja believe it?) COMIC BOOK!

Dear Leader,
Down shift and burn the tires! Wow! This a hot, no hog comic of the classic kind. Since the end of Captain Harlock, I did not known what to read, but BIKER MICE FROM MARS shifted my ears of interest. I hope the group is going to be a great series, so don't go under the speed limits of creation and imagination! So push it! For now, "LET'S ROCK AND RIDE!!"

Dear Editor,
I'd already seen episodes of the Biker Mice on TV when I noticed the comic in the store. I'm a real fan of the show and ever miss a show. My favorite character is Modo. I think he is really cool. Will the TV show or comic tell how he lost his eye? The comic is really superb and just wanted to say "great job" to Rick Ungar, the creator.

NOTE: If you can't get enough of that Rick Ungar/Rurik Tyler biker action, the duo are also doing some BIKE MICE mini-comics packed in the new line of BIKE MICE FROM MARS action figures and accessories from Galoob. And you can get the BIKE MICE on video soon, thanks to Best Video.

NEXT MONTH begins an all-new series of adventures of the Biker Mice in tales you WON'T see on TV! Creator RICK UNGAR, writer BOB FORWARD, artist RURIK TYLER, and special guest inker TOM SUTTOM spin a story where our favorite Martian Mice get BUSTED! Seems Limburger's cheesy grip extends to the police and government when...well, just check out this issue and YOU'll see! Also, in response to reader demand, a new bonus back-up series featuring untold tales of our triumphant triumvirate back on their home planet, Mars! DON'T MISS IT!
