Chapter Ten

My hand was still trembling as my pen touched the paper. I stopped and took a deep breath. I am basically giving my life away for the next ten years to this contract, I thought to myself. Is this something you want to do? I guess Simon saw my hesitation.
"It's alright," he said. "Take your time. I have to tend to some buisness in the back, I'll be out in a few minutes." I smiled a nervous smile and nodded a bit. When he was out of sight I dropped the pen on the desk and leaned back in my chair. I placed my hand over my eyes. I want to do this, but I don't. I heard the little bell that had greeted me when I entered the office ring behind me. I didn't bother to turn around. After a minute of silence I felt a hand on my shoulder. I dropped my hand and looked up. I took a deep breath when I saw who it was.
"Abs," I breathed. I jumped up and hugged him. He held me tight. I inhaled his scent and closed my eyes, savoring the moment. He pulled back a moment later and kissed me long and soft. I returned the kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"I'm so so sorry," he said when we let go. "I know you would never cheat on me. I read your note. I'm sorry I ever doubted you before." I nodded a bit.
"I deserved it," I quietly replied.
"No, no you didn't," Abs said, tucking a peice of hair that had fallen in front of my face behind my ear.
"Let's just not talk about it," I laughed a bit.
   "Okay," he whispered.
"Let's go," I said, taking his hand.
"Wait," he said, stopping me. I turned back around and faced him. "I am living out my dream. Preforming in front of people and having the life of it. You deserve to as well."
   "But Abs..." I said.
"Simon knows your talent. So do I. You deserve this contract," he said, pointing to the mass of paper laying on Simon's desk.
"But I'm never going to see you," I said, tears springing to my eyes. Just then, Simon walked out.
   "Well, hello, Abs," Simon said.
"Simon," Abs replied, nodding a bit.
"You come to rescue your girlfriend?" Simon asked, sitting.
"No..."Abs said, wrapping an arm around me. "I know she deserves this." Simon nodded. "I have a bit of a proposition to make."
"Oh really? And what would that be?" Simon asked, clasping his hands in front of him.
   "Well, since Whitney
is going to leave here with a signed contract, I was just wondering if you could book her on our tour next month?" Abs asked with a smile on his face. Simon sat back and thought.
"You know," he started. "I'm not a total cold hearted man, as most of my clients think," he smiled a bit. "I can see you two love each other very much." Abs gave me a little squeeze. "I will book her as an opening act." Simon smiled. My mouth dropped.
"Ohmigod, are you serious?" I exclaimed. Simon laughed a bit and nodded. "Ahhh!" I screamed, looking at Abs. I jumped up and down and hugged him, happier than ever,
