Chapter Three

I laid in bed next to Abs. He had hardly said a word to me the rest of the evening. After the enounter with Jimmy, we had a silent agreement for everyone to get out, dry off, and head seperate ways. "Abs," I sighed, rolling over to face him. He opened his eyes and looked at me. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," he said, sounding a bit aggrivated.
"Well, it doesn't seem like nothing," I said. "Nothing happened between me and that guy."
"I know," he said, rolling over on his back.
"Then what is the problem?" I asked.
"Just...nothing, let's forget it." he sighed. I rolled my eyes, getting aggrivated myself.
"Fine," I said. He leaned over and gave me a quick kiss. I returned it then rolled back over, my back facing him.

                                ~*~*~*~*~

The next morning I woke to an empty bed. A note was on the side table. I reached over and clumsily grabbed it. "Babe," I read. "We had to leave early for last minute rehearsal. Hope to see you there tonight. All my love, Abs." His signature was accompanied by a little smiley face with the tongue sticking out. I smiled a bit, hoping this was a sign that he was in a better mood than he was the previous night.
I got up, took a quick shower, got dressed, and headed down to Dawn's room. I knocked on the door. Dawn answered soon after. She looked like I had just woken her up. "Well, hello beautiful!" I cherrily exclaimed.
"Shut up," she groggily yawned, opening the door wider. I walked in.
"Scott gone?" I asked, seeing the empty bed.
"Yeah," she said, opening the dresser drawers and pulling out various items. "I gotta take a shower, I'll be out in a few." I nodded as she headed in. I sat on the bed and grabbed the remote. I flipped on the TV, scanning the channels. All crap. Infomercials upon infomericals. I forced myself to turn off the TV, knowing if I didn't, I'd end up buying the products they were forcing me into buying. I sat there, listening to the water run. I started humming. Knowing no one was around to hear, I started singing, something I thuroughly missed.
"You leave...without saying goodbye. No note, no sayings...just footprints in my memory, well, baby I tell ya, I deserver better than that, yeahhh..."
"I remember that," Dawn said suddenly, emerging from the bathroom. "We never finished that song, did we?" I shook my head.
"No," I sighed. "Unfortunatly, not." Dawn rubbed her wet hair with the white hotel towels.
"I love those little soaps," she laughed, pointing toward the bathroom.
"Yeah," I smiled. "I almost got sucked into buying this "hotel" set I saw on TV once, it was cool, like a lifetime supply of little shampoos and soaps." Dawn laughed. "Do you ever miss it?" I asked, suddenly.
"Miss what?" Dawn said, now coming her hair, moving to sit next to me on the bed.
"Preforming, you know, singing live, recording, writing, everything," I said. She thought for a minute.
"Well, yeah," she replied. "I miss it. It was fun, I had a great time. But I love what I have now. Scott." I nodded. "What about you?" I looked down and shrugged a little.
"It's hard to think we were where we were like almost a year ago." I responded.
"Aren't you happy, though, that you're with Abs?" Dawn asked.
"Of course I am," I nodded. But what about my career? I thought to myself.
