| Chapter Four Dawn and I headed backstage after the concert. We flashed our backstage passes at the security guards, who in turn, let us pass through. Dawn spotted Scott and rushed over to him. Abs showed up behind him soon after. I smiled a bit and walked over to him. "Hey," he greeted me, a bit out of breath and sweaty. He kissed me quickly on the cheek. "Hey," I reponded, taking his hand in mine. "Did you get my note?" he asked as we started to walk toward the deep backstage. "I didn't want to wake you." "Yeah, yeah, I got it," I said. Dawn and Scott were walking ahead of us. "Um...Abs?" "Yeah?" he asked, looking over at me. "Can we talk?" "About what?" "About what we obviously couldn't talk about last night." I told him. He sighed deeply. "I thought we dropped this," He said as we stopped walking in front of the dressing rooms. "Yeah, we dropped it last night," I said, letting go of his hand. "We have to work together here, Abs." "Look, it's no big deal!" he exclaimed. "It is a big deal if you are freaking out about this." I said. "Freaking out? Freaking- I.." he stopped and threw his hand up. "I'm not getting into this now. Not now, not here." "Well, when?" I shot back. "We couldn't talk about it outside of the hotel, we couldn't talk about it last night in the room. When?" I was almost yelling by now, and a few people were looking over at us. Abs just looked at me, not saying anything. "Ugh!" I exclaimed, walking away from him. I walked back out in front of the stage and up through the seats. By now everyone had cleared out, so I didn't have to worry about that. I pushed open the double doors just as a man was walking through. I almost ran into him, but didn't. I kept walking anyways. "Whitney?" I heard. I stopped and turned around. "Simon?" I asked, now seeing the man I almost ran into was my old manager. "How are you?" he kinda laughed, walking toward me. "I'm..alright," I said, smiling a bit. "Are you still here with...Scott and Richard?" he asked. "Abs? Um, yeah," I said. "Dawn and I are. They just had a concert tonight, we came and watched." He nodded. "Hey, well, I have to get going, but I'd really like to talk to you sometime. Here's my cell phone number," he said, jotting it down on the back of a buisness card he had in his pocket. "Gimme a call in the next couple of days." I took it from him and looked it over. "You know what? I will." I smiled. Chapter Five.... |
