| Chapter Three We had been on the road for two hours already. I gazed out the window at the quickly passing snow. I was looking forward to the trip in front of us, but missing the home we were leaving behind. I'd never been gone from home so long, I had to get my mind off it. Scott gasped and I turned my gaze from out the window over to him. "What?" I asked. His mouth hung open. He quickly reached forward and turned up the radio. "I love this song!!" he exclaimed. It was some old Guns N Roses song. I rolled my eyes. "Scott turn it down!!" I said. "Wha? Sorree, sis, can't hear you!" Scott exclaimed while singing along to the music. "Scott! Come on" I laughed. He grinned at me but didn't turn it down. Finally, the song ended and he turned it down. "Whew!" he sighed. "That was good." "Right," I said, turning to look out the window again. I heard a faint ringing. "What's that?" I asked. "Um..." Scott blushed. "My jacket is ringing?" I reached over and pulled Scott's mobile out of his pocket. "Scott," I said, pointing it at him. "I thought we agreed no mobile." "But,I.." he pleaded. I shook my head, flipped open the glove compartment, and dropped it in. "But, wha, I..." "Shh..." I said. "You'll live." "But what if Mum got in a terrible accident?" Scott whined. "Scott," I said, looking at him. "Mum is going to be sitting at home all week waiting for us to call. Don't worry about it." Scott was going to say something in a nervous mumble when a loud clattering sound started up. I frowned over at him. "What's that?" Scott asked. "Like I would know? Did you break the car, Scott?" I questioned. "I hope not!" he exclaimed. The car slowed and eventually stopped. "Great." I said. "So, what do we do now?" Scott asked, looking straight ahead. I shrugged as I unbluckled my seatbelt.
