Chapter Four

"Stupid car, stupid car," Scott mumbled as he kicked the tire.
"Scott, beating up the car isn't going to help," I sighed as I leaned against the car.
"What are we gonna do?' Scott whined.
"Wait for another car, I guess," I said as I glanced down the long winding road ahead of us.
"But there hasn't been a car on the road for like...since we've been here!" Scott exclaimed.
"Chill, Scott," I said. "Maybe someone will come along." I pulled my coat around me tighter. "Lets sit in the car, its warmer in there than out here." I pulled my coat tighter around me and walked around the other side. I opened  the door and sat in. Scott took this opportunity to try to get the better of me.
"So," he said as he got in next to me. "I wonder how we can call for help." I looked over at him. "With no phones around... oh wait, there is one phone..." He stared at the glove compartment that held his dear mobile.
"Don't even think about it, Scott," I glared at him.
"So you want us to die with a perfect resource that can save us right by?" Scott asked. I thought about it.
"1.We're not going to die and 2.Fine. Use it, try to call up at the lodge and try to get ahold of Nikki." I sighed.
"Yay!" Scott exlcaimed. He popped open the compartment and grabbed the phone. He jumped out of the car to use it. I watched him as he stood in fron of the car and dialed the number. He brought it up to his ear, but something was wrong. He took it away from his ear and looked at it. He slowly trudged back into the car.
"Get ahold of her?" I sweetly asked.
"Nah," he sighed. "The connection sucks out here."
"See?The phone is useless," I replied as I sat back in my seat.
"But what are we gonna do now?" Scott looked over at me. I shrugged.
   "We'll just have to...wait." I told him.
