| Chapter Five I sat at the table, next to Dawn and across from Abs. The three of them were eating, but I sat there with my water in front of me. I rested my head on my hand. I had a lot on my mind. "Aren't you hungry?" Dawn quietly asked me. I looked up quickly at Abs, who was concentrating on his food. "No," I responded. I took a sip of my water. "You know...guys, I'm...I'm going to get back to the hotel, I'm kind of tired," I said, standing up. "See you in the morning." I left without kissing Abs goodbye or anything. ~*~*~*~*~ I was sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the lobby when I saw Abs, Scott, and Dawn come in. I needed to talk to Scott, but didn't want Abs to know I was talking to him. I pulled out my mobile and quickly dialed his number. I saw him retrieve his from his jacket and soon after answered. "Scott, hey this is Whitney," I said. "Oh, hey, Wh-" "No, no!" I stopped him. "I need to talk to you without Abs knowing." "Well, where are you?" I saw him move away from Dawn and Abs a bit, Dawn chatting away with Abs. "Look straight ahead. No, to the right a little bit." I waved my arm a bit. "See me?" "Oh, yeah! Ha ha...so I'll be right over in a minute," he said. "Thanks, Scott," I said, and hung up. He did the same. I saw him say something to Dawn and Abs and they headed back toward the room. He hung around until they were out of sight and then headed toward me. He smiled a bit when he saw me and sat in the chair across from me. "Thanks for doing that," I said, pointing to where they once were. "It's alright." he told me. "What do you need to talk about?" I pulled my legs up in the chair. "Well...Abs," I said. He didn't look suprised. "We've been kind of on the outs for the past couple of days." "So I've noticed," he smirked. "I just...I don't know why he's mad. He won't talk to me about it. Whenever I ask him what is the problem he dismisses it as nothing. Did he happen to say anything to you?" I asked him. "Well, Whitney, the things that Abs and I talk about are kind of private," Scott said. "I know. I'm sorry," I looked down. "But...if Dawn was mad at me for some reason and I didn't know why, I'd most likely come to you. So, if that happens in the future, you owe me," he replied. I looked back up at him and smiled. "Now," he started, scooting his chair closer to mine. "I don't think you're going to like what I am going to tell you, but it's the truth." My stomach dropped a bit. "It's okay, I just need to know," I told him. "Well, Abs is....kind of paranoid right now," Scott said. "Before you two got together you cheated on Rob with him. He's just...he's just worried that you will do the same to him. He just doesn't want to get hurt." I let it sink in for a second. "But, I would never do that to Abs," I said. Scott shrugged a bit. "Does he know that?" he asked. "Obviously not," I said, sinking back into my chair. "Then all I can tell you is to let him know. Or at least try," Scott reccomended. "Thanks, Scott, I really appreciate it." I told him. "I know," he said. Chapter Six... |
