| Chapter Seven Even minutes after Ritchie left, I stayed where I was, leaning against my front door, savoring the past few minutes. My heart was slowing to a heart attack pace and I took a few breaths to try to soothe myself. I glanced around the empty room. My eyes locked on my purse, the paper sticking up a bit. My heart sank a bit, wondering how long it would be until Ritchie saw it. I crossed the room and yanked it out of my purse. I sat on the couch as I unfolded the paper in my hands. I stared at the picture of Ritchie and I; he was handing me my fallen keys, we were both soaked. I turned to the page about us. There were more pictures of us as we walked side by side in the rain and of us entering my house. I took a breath as I began to read the article. "Is it true? Ritchie Neville turned into the most eligable bachelor late last year when he and Whitney Phillips suddenly split. While Whitney was seen at several different occasions with different lads, Ritchie remained single. The Goss brings is to you first, this past popular couple may be seeing sparks once again! The pair were spotted in front of Whitney's condo she stays in while not on location with movies. The couple seemed a bit distant at first, but stopped in Whitney's flat for what I think was more than a cup of tea. What makes this couple so unique was because of the breakup. There was no explainable reason why what seemed like the perfect relationship ended. The Goss will keep you updated." I was starting to feel sick to my stomach. This is exactly what I didn't want to happen. *Flashback* "Dammit, Ritchie, I'm so tired of this!" I yelled, angrily closing the curtains. Ritchie looked up from reading the newspaper on my couch with concern in his eyes. "I have no privacy anymore!" "Whit, how many times do we have to go over this? You knew getting into the buisness you wouldn't have your privacy as a luxery like you used to," Ritchie explained. "Oh, so now it's my fault?" I shot back. "Like I should have known better?" "I never said that," Ritchie said, folding the paper and setting it down. "That's sure what it sounded like!" I sharply responded. "You know, I never had this problem before I was with you." He stood, looking at me. "What?!" he asked. "Oh, I'm sorry Whitney that I have made the past almost two years a living hell for you because of my presence." "Well you were certainly not thinkng of those two years when you were with that Michelle whats-her-name." I replied. "Here's yet another over argued subject! I was hoping for one!" Ritchie exclaimed. "Childish," I muttered. "How many times do I have to drill it in your head? Nothin happened between me and Michelle! Alright? It's all gossip!" "Which brings us back to the beginning," I replied, sitting. "What were you and her doing at that hotel anyways?" "Why can't you understand?!" he yelled back."Nothing. A thousand times, nothing." He walked toward the door. "Maybe you can understand this," he said. He pointed to the door, opened it, stepped out, and slammed it behind him. *End Flashback* Chapter Eight... |
