| Chapter Fourteen Whitney: "Seven Eight Nine, Stop, stop stop," Dom shook his head as he shut off the music. I reached for my water bottle on the floor and took a quick drink. "What is going on, you guys? The show looks like absolute crap, no one is sticking their moves like they should, did everything fall apart while I was gone, or what?!" "No, actually things improved while you were gone," the outspoken Nikki supplied the answer. A few heads nodded in agreement. "Oh really?" Dome glanced over at me and I adverted my eyes from his look. "Well I would appreciate it if someone would tell me what the hell happened since I took over again?" I looked around at everyone staring at everything except the mirror or Dom. "Well, all I have to say is that if you all go on stage on Monday night looking like you do now, I'll let the public tear you apart seen as how you can't hold an hour and a half show together." With that he walked out of the room. Moments later I heard the door slam and winced at the sound of it. I glanced around the room at the solemn faces. I looked back to Abs who stood behind me. The look in his eyes digged at my heart. "I can't do this," I said, grabbing my things and leaving out the back door. Teresa: The silence rang through the room. "Can't do this as in today right now or can't do this as in...never again?" I nervously asked to no one in particular. "Ah who cares," Nikki mumbled, crossing her legs and sitting on the floor. "Look, Nikki, just because you and her don't get along for some reason doesn't mean she's not important to this dance," I said, shockingly suprised at the sudden confidence. "What are you, her new best friend?" Nikki spat. "Hey, guys.." Scott spoke up. "Having your boyfriend fight your battles for you now?" Nikki asked. "Nikki, just shut up," Amanda said from across the room. "Don't even start, Amanda," Nikki glared at her. "Everyone just stop!" Abs shouted. We looked at him. "Someone better find out if Whitney's even coming back because we have about 4 days to find a replacement dancer if she isn't." We stood there, not saying anything. "Fine. I guess Dom had the right idea when he left." He grabbed his things and headed out the same way so many people had done before. Nikki: I shook my head as the door slammed behind Abs. We were falling apart and had 2 days to get it back together. What was happening? There had to be more than just the conflict between Amanda, Ritchie, and I. Abs had been awful quick to go after Whitney, maybe... "Nice going, Nik," Amanda growled behind me. "Excuse me? You're blaming this on me?" I asked, pointing to myself. She nodded as she crossed her arms in front of her. "Look, I didn't do anything. Whitney was the one who chose to leave." She just rolled her eyes. I unfolded my legs and stood again. "Look, guys, I know I haven't been the greatest person to be around lately. No one has. Nothing had been right around here. But aside from all our personal problems, we're committed to this. We're going to be on the road together for months. We have to rely on each other for everything. Someone gets hurt, misses a step, is upset for any reason at all, we have to be there for each other. When we joined this, we joined a family. Romance or not, we have to be together." I looked around the room, eyes slowly coming up from their focused spots on the floor. "Nicely spoken, Nik," J said after a moment. I smiled. The others nodded and mumbled agreements. "So...I think we need to stick it now. Right here, right now. Whitney and Abs or not, we can worry about them later. For now, we have to work on us. Work on our family," I told them. "Let's dance," Suzanne supplied, pressing on the music. Chapter Fifteen... |
