| Chapter Seven Teresa: After warm ups which included about 15 minutes of stretching and plain goofing off, we were ready to get started. I took first position which baically consisted of us five girls in a triangle type stance across the stage and the guys in the middle behind us. The only thing weird I noticed was there was no Dom. Where was he? He was never late. "Alright, everyone, before we get started today, we need to talk," Whitney said, moving to the front of the room. She leaned her back against the mirrored wall in front of us and I relaxed from my position as did everyone else. She opened her mouth to say something but soon was interrputed. "Where's Dom?" Nikki wondered aloud. The rest of the guys nodded a bit. "If you gave me a chance to talk then maybe you would know, wouldn't you?" Whitney aksed, crossing her arms in front of her. Oooh, I thought to myself. A cat fight in the making. "Yes, Dom is not here today. He is in Italy at the moment. For the next week or so I am going to be your instructor." I practically heard everyone's jaws dropping to the floor as did mine. "You will listen to me, follow my rules, and above all, respect me. Because Dom will be back. I think you know what I mean." She pushed off the mirror and took first position. She looked at everyone who was still a bit shocked. "Let's dance," she smirked, flipping on the music. Nikki: "...Five and Six and Seven and Eight." We strongly ended, heads down. It was strange, as much as I hated the girl Whitney really knew how to bring it. We were more focused and more into it then the past couple of weeks. Everyone was sticking every move like magic, it was coming together so well. "Nice job," Whitney said, wiping off her forehead with a towel that laid on the floor. "That's it for today." I sighed. "Hey, you, uh, wanna do somethin tonight?" Ritchie asked, taking a sip from his bottled water. I smiled a bit. "Sounds great," I replied. "Can I have your number then?" he cheekily smiled. I nodded. As I was reaching into my bag for a pen I heard my name being called. "Nikki, can I talk to you?" Whitney called to me from across the studio. I silently groaned. "One second," I told Ritchie. He watched as I crossed across the room and approached Whitney. I raied my eyebrows, waiting for her to speak. "Listen," she started. "I'm going to tell you once and once only. I have the power to take you out of this program as quickly as that." She said, snapping her fingers. "I don't like you anymore than you like me. I'm in charge now, so watch what you say." With that final glare she picked up her bag and left. I was left dumbfounded. I wanted to storm after her and give her a peice of my mind. But my mind was blank...and I really needed this job. Plus, look at the benifits, I thought to myself, glancing over to where Ritchie stood. Whitney: I shut the door behind me as I made my way out to the parking lot. I grabbed my keys and unlocked my trunk, tossing my work out bag in. "Whitney!" I heard someone calling my voice. I turned and looked toward the entrance of the studio. Abs came jogging up to me. "Yeah?" I asked, moving over to the drivers side door and sliding my key in. "I just wanted to say you did a wicked job in there," he said, throwing a thumb toward the building. "Thanks," I replied, opening the door. "It's what I do." I sat int he carr and unrolled the window after I shut the door. He leaned against it as I started up the car. "Well you're really good at it," he told me. "I'll see you tomorrow, Abs," I shortly replied. He stood up straight again. "Looking forward to it!" he called as I drove away. Chapter Eight... |
