Chapter Eight

Nikki: I sat on my bed, flipping through a magazine, staring at the phone. I reached the last page, flipped the magazine over, and started again. The phone rang. I grabbed it. "Hello?" I quickly said into it. I squeezed my eyes shut tight. Stupid Stupid Stupid, I thought.
"Hey Nik, how are you?" my mum's voice filled the air. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Oh, fine Mum," I replied, laying back on my bed.
"We're you expecting someone to call? You answered rather quickly," she wondered.
"Yeah, actually I was," I told her.
   "Who? Or might I say
whom?" she laughed a bit.
"His name is Ritchie, mum," I told her.
"Ohh. You two like, involved?" she pryed.
"Not yet," I explained. "He is supposed to be calling me to go out with him then maybe we'd be involved but oops, someone else called and interrupted this silent bliss."
"Don't be a crab," she scolded. "You have your call waiting I know it. How's the dancing coming?"
"Pretty well," I said, rolling over on my side. "That's where I met Ritchie, you see. Dom, our dance instructor is in Italy this week and that...ugh...Whitney is teaching us. She practically threatened me today."
"Ooh, sounds like a cage match to me," mum said. I laughed a bit.
"I'd like to put her in a cage," I growled. My call waiting beeped. "That's him, mum. Gotta go." I flipped over. "Hello?"

Whitney: I was fast asleep on the couch. From far away  I heard a faint yip from Sam. My eyes slowly fluttered open. Sam barked again as I heard a loud noise. My heart started to race. I jolted up from the couch. I shushed Sam as I quietly made my way over to the door. I cautiosly looked in the peep hole. I saw a shaved head and dark brown eyes looking toward my door. I breathed out. I unlocked the door and opened it.
"Abs! What are you doing here? Are you crazy?" I yelled.
"Shh!" he said, putting his finger to his lips. "You'll wake your neighbors." I rolled my eyes but had to smile. This guy had guts.
"Come on in," I sighed, pulling the door open. Sam clumsily trotted over.
"Aww, hello lil guy," Abs said, reaching down and scratching him behind his ears. "What's his name?"
"Sam," I smiled. I shook myself out of it. He was here, but why? "Abs, why are you here?"
"I thought you'd never ask!" he replied, standing. "You, uh, forgot your jacket at the studio."
"Oh really?" I asked, looking at his empty hands. "Where is it then?"
"Uh.." he scanned the room. "Here!" he grabbed my dark blue hoodie off one of the kitchen chairs and handed it to me.
"Oh thanks," I flatly said. "I've been looking all over for this." He smirked. "So do you want some coffee if you're not going to leave?" He nodded generously.

Scott: "Hi, Teresa, do you... NO! Ugh!" I slapped my forehead. I'm going to sound so stupid. I was sitting in my car outside of Teresas flat trying to psyche myself up to going up there and asking her out for coffee. "Hi, Teresa, do you like coffee? I know this great.uhh I'm never going to do this right." I sat there, staring out of my window. Suddenly I got up and headed up her dirveway. I got to her porch and stopped. I closed my eyes. As I was reaching out to ring the doorbell, the door flew open and out came Teresa. We crashed into eahc other and fell to the ground laughing. "Oh, are you okay?" Teresa asked, rubbing a spot on her head where we collided.
"Yeah, I am," I laughed, rubbing almost the exact same spot. "Hey, Tteresa, um, I know this isn't the best time to be asking this, but would you like to go out to coffee some time with me?" She stood up, brushed herself off, then helped me up.
"I'd love to," she finally responded.
