Denial...

A black crow wanders near
desiring to be one of the crowd
but the others push him out
as if he mattered not
to them he represents emotion
that they have yet to experience
the idea of something different
it scares them

For he is the union of shadow and light
of hope and despair, horridness and beauty
to be cast in the color of night
yet with a soul from the brightest reaches
the thought that all could mix together
an era of perfection
it scares them

In truth he embodies universal peace
an aspect of love itself
yet what is love
but a sharing of energies in euphoria
love is not without fault
it involves sacrifice, compromise, guilt
and without love
what a dreadful place this world
those who never indulge
never live
it scares them
