Johnny stood outside the doors of the building Carly had just entered. Both him and Sonny had been standing there for about 15 minutes, all the time watching the confrontation that took place in the lobby between Carly and the unidentified woman.

Johnny slanted a glance towards Sonny, but the man's posture was in the stame stance it had been in for the past 15 minutes. He seemed as if he was in deep thought, maybe even pondering whether or not to go in. Johnny wished they would either go in or leave, because they looked pretty dumb just standing there and not taking any action.

"Sonny? The wharehouse," Johnny finally asked, hoping to get some kind of reaction from his boss.

Sonny snapped out of his haze, looking towards his guard. How long had they been standing there? He looked up the street, then back down from where they had come from. Returning his gaze back to Johnny he aksed, "6212 Broad. Find out what's inside."

Johnny would have made a comment, but the determined look on Sonny Corinthos' face told him not to. He took his cell phone out of his pocket and made a call.

Sonny didn't know why he was here. Johnny was right, he should be at the wharehouse making sure things were going alright. But, something drew him to Carly. He didn't know what it was, or why the pull was so strong, but he felt that it was important he knew what Carly was up to.

And he would find out.

He turned towards Johnny again, awaiting a response.

Johnny hung up the phone and returned it to his inside pocket. He didn't know if he should tell Sonny all that he'd found out about the building, but he knew it was his job to do so.

Maybe I'll just tell him that last Johnny thought, his forehead already breaking out in a sweat for the confrontation he knew would come.

"It's an office building that holds two law offices, a decorator's office, and a clinic." There! He'd said it. Now he just hoped he didn't ask for details.

Sonny looked back towards the building. She's probably in there getting decorating tips. Sonny turned back towards Johnny."Who's law offices?" he asked, just to be sure and check those out later.

"One big firm, 'Howard, Huges, and Lambert', the other a smaller practice, Carzuti and Santos." Johnny stood there, hoping that would be enough info for his boss and they could both finally get the hell out of there.

Sonny turned back towards the building. The decorator deal seemed the most likely reason Carly had come here, but he couldn't discount the fact that she had been wearing that ridiculous disguise. Something was up, something deeper than new curtains for the Quartermaine mansion.

"You said something about a clinic? What type of clinic?" Sonny asked as he started towards the doors. Whatever was propelling him, it was strong. Once inside, Sonny turned to see Johnny still outside, seemingly deciding if it was a good idea to enter or not. He did, but slowly, and came to stand right in front of Sonny.

"Well Johnny? The clinic? What type of clinic?" Sonny asked in an impatient tone.

Johnny hesitated again. This is the last time I switch duty with Francis.

"A family planning clinic. An abortion clinic." Whew! At least he'd finally gotten it out. Now, all he had to do was wait for the reaction.

That didn't take long.

Sonny whirled towards the elevators, taking long strides to reach them. He incessantly pushed on the up button, trying to hurry the elevator. He had no proof. He had nothing. But he knew. He just knew. She got dropped off blocks from this building. She'd seemed nervous, even edgy. She wore that damn disguise.

"Boss, I think we should..."

"I don't give a damn what you think Johnny!" The doors to the last elevators opened, a few people streaming out. Sonny jogged over, throwing himself between the now closing doors. An abortion clinic? Carly? A baby?

His baby.

"Please God, no!" He couldn't lose another child again. He couldn't be responsible for the death of another person. His son. His daughter.

"Johnny, what floor?"

"Suite C, I guess the 3rd floor." Johnny reached to push the button, but Sonny was already pounding on it. The doors closed, and the elevator moved up.

Pleae God, don't let her kill my child."

"Mmm...this is really good ice cream." Carly said around the spoonful she had in her mouth.

"Only the best for Dani Carzuti! Actually, it's from a dessert shop down the street. They make it right there in the shop. It's the best stuff in the world."

"I didn't realize how hungry I was...This can't be good though, just eating ice cream...you know, for the baby."

"Well, did you have some breakfast? Lunch?" Dani asked, setting the carton of ice cream down on her desk. She and Carly had been sharing for the past ten minutes or so, talking about insignificant things, really just breaking the earlier tension that had arisen between them. So far, she kind of liked Carly -- minus the whole abortion thing.

"No. I was in hurry to get...well you know. Anyway, I can't really eat anything in the mornings cause it makes more nauseous."

Dani reached over for the phone on her desk.

"What are you doing? Who are you calling?" Carly asked worriedly. Maybe this had been a setup.

Dani put her palm over the phone. "I'm just ordering you a sub from the deli next door. Ham or turkey?"

Carly blinked. God, she's like a mother!

"Both."

Dani finished placing the order, then turned towards Carly. "It should be up in a few minutes. They're really fast."

"Thanks. Do you have kids?"

"No, no kids. Why do you ask?"

"No reason. Well...you do the mothering-thing pretty well...The bossy-thing, the..."

"Okay, okay! I don't have kids, but my sister, Melinda, she does. I baby them. I guess, I'm kind of their 'second mother' you could say."

"Yeah, I guess. Well..."

"I get it. We should talk. So, why don't you just tell me about yourself?" Dani reached for a pen and a pad of paper off her desk, ready to take notes.

"You got the main story down in the lobby. That's about it. Now, I want to ask how you can help me." Carly sat back in her chair. Maybe she would play this for a while. She could always make another appointment for the ab... "Well?"

"Okay. I don't usually do family law. I specialize more in traffic tickets and the such...I'm still learning from Meli, my sister. She's my partner. Actually, I just finished law school, and she signed me..."

"You're not telling me how you can help, though the family story is sweet."

Dani dropped the pad and pen down. She's something!

"Well, like I said, I don't have much experience, but I'm sure we could figure something out. First, you'd have to tell me who the father of the child is."

"That's not going to happen, so next!"

"But, I..."

"NEXT!

"Fine. Fine! Your husband, Mr Quartermaine..."

"AJ, AJ Quartermaine. CEO of ELQ. He's got power. He's got money. He's got lawyers that are more experienced than you. You know what, I should just go!"

"Don't go!" There was a knock on the door outside of the office. "That's your sandwhich. Let me go pay for it. Please, don't go." Dani got up and left the room. She returned a minute later with a bag, and sat back in the chair next to Carly's. "Here. Eat up! It's really good."

"I'll eat when you tell me how you can help me."

"Have you even thought about having the baby and giving it up for adoption. I'm sure there's someone out there that would love a little baby boy or girl."

"I thought you weren't going to give lectures?"

"That wasn't a lecture, it was a question. You can't have this abortion, you will regret if for the rest of your life!"

"How the hell would you know?!?" Carly shouted, angry at Dani's nerve.

"I'd know because I had an abortion!" Dani wiped at the tear that streamed down her cheek. She got off the chair and started pacing around her office.

Carly didn't know what to say. "I'm sor..."

"Sorry! Yeah, I know." Dani cut in with Carly's earlier response. "Look, I...I...I didn't want to say anything. It happened a long time ago, I was only 17! It was a mistake. The biggest mistake of my life and I regret it everyday. I thought I didn't have any choice. I thought...I thought it was the only way." Dani stopped pacing and kneeled down, bracing her arms on those of the chair Carly sat in.

"If I could take it back...If I could just go back to that day...I wouldn't have...That decision, I'll have to live with it for the rest of my life. You...you have a choice Carly. Do you think it's a coincidence that I saw you in the lobby? God! It's a miracle! I know if I had had someone who cared about me the same way I care about you that day, I wouldn't have done it. Anything and everything Carly. I will do my absolute best to help you, but you can't get rid of that child!

Carly let her words seep in. Even though it was really none of her business, she knew Dani was right. Her hands dropped down to her belly. She couldn't do it. She couldn't.

"Fine."

Dani looked up at Carly, unsure what she meant.

"I won't have the abortion, but I swear if I lose my son..."

"You won't Carly. I promise you, you won't!"
