An internet service provider (ISP) is a computer that allows you to attain internet access through their dialup or DSL connection.
Free e-mail accounts are also available. Other companies allow free webhosting.

Some popular paid ISPs are AOL and Prodigy. More free ISPs become available every day. Some popular free ISPs are Juno,  BlueLight,  and FreeWorld.
 
Internet service is not the only thing now being provided free of charge. Free e-mail can be obtained from Hotmail, Juno, Excite, Netaddress, and Themail.com, among other companies.

Free webhosting is available from Geocities,  Bizland,  Anontech, and Vavo, among numerous other sites.
