The Almancil Congregation

This church is a central feature of the village of Praia da Luz, which has developed from a small fishing village to a holiday centre. The congregation averages about 100 for its main Sunday Service (between 150-200 may be seen at major services) and is drawn from a wide geographical area. It is composed of a mixture of mainly British residents, living here permanently or for part of the year, and holidaymakers. Our members are, in the main, retired people in their mid-fifties and upwards, with some younger working members.
