Convert MPEG (.mpg) file to DivX file

If you have got your file in mpg format , well and good . Or else , first convert the VCD .dat file to a mpg first (Click here) . Then fire up Virtual Dub . Virtual Dub is a freeware that is distributed under the GPL (General Public License) . Virtual Dub is considered by many to be the ultimate video converting tool . Open Virtual Dub

Now go to "File" and open your MPG file – the file is “COLOMBIA.MPG”

Now go to "Audio"  -> "Conversion"

Now select 44100 Hz 16 bit stereo ...

Now go for "Video" -> "Compression" -> DIVX MPEG4 FAST MOTION

It should be as below :

Click on Configure :

910 Kbps is the default ..

You can also change to smooth if you like more smoothness

Now go to "File" -> "Save AVI " -> and your file name

I selected here "Colombia"

Click "Save"

Now the program will start running ....

After some time you will get a new movie but with extension .avi
