Joining Girl Scouts

Your daughter in Girl Scouting
(from the Girl Scout USA page)

Would you like your daughter to be in a safe, secure setting where, under the guidance of a caring adult volunteer, she can find new interests or pursue familiar ones with a group of friends? Then Girl Scouting is for her.

Girl Scouting offers your daughter opportunities to learn new skills in sports, reading, computers. She will gain experience in giving to others as she visits elderly nursing home residents or protects a stream. Democracy will become a reality for her as she votes on troop activities, and the sound business practices she uses in selling cookies will give her skills that carry over into adulthood. In Girl Scouting, your daughter can design a jewelry collection, be in a play, or even create her own music video. And if she's an older girl, she'll find out about cutting-edge careers and have a chance to take trips to places she's only dreamed of visiting!

As the United States becomes more diverse, it is imperative that children learn acceptance and cooperation. Because Girl Scouting brings together girls from different racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as girls with varying levels of physical and mental abilities, it creates an ideal environment where your daughter can explore different cultures and better understand others. Yes, Girl Scouting is a place where girls of all ages and backgrounds grow together and have fun.

Girl Scouting exists only to serve girls. Our more than eighty years of experience show that girls have unique needs and interests that are best met in a program designed especially for them, delivered in an all-girl setting.

If you would like your daughter to join Girl Scouts or if she's an older girl interested herself, please contact us and we will try to place her in a group at her age level as soon as an opening becomes available. Registration in Girl Scouts is $7.00 for the membership year which runs from October 1 to September 30.
