NAME: Suzanne Elizabeth Rhiannon Johnston
DATE OF BIRTH: October 7, 1976
PLACE OF BIRTH: Kaiser Hospital, San Francisco, CA.
LOCATION: I've moved around alot, from California to Georgia to Virginia back to California to Louisiana to
Singapore (4 years), Guam (5 years), and now back to Louisiana. I've been back about a year.
EDUCATION: I graduated from Singapore American School (in 1995) and was
attending Guam Community College. I only needed one more class to get my Certificate in Computer Science. I put in the hours for that one last class but the supervisor left island without putting in the paperwork on me and I never got credit. Unfortunately I became very ill with a virus similar to mono that made me tired all the time and I didn't take any more classes. I also started having convulsions from caffein and had to completely stop drinking tea and other caffeinated drinks.
MEMBERSHIPS: I was the Parliamentarian of COPSA (Council On Postsecondary Student Affairs) at GCC, a student member of the Standard Four Accredidation Committee on Curriculum, and a member of the Beta Beta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. I was also a member of the X-Files fanclub until it fell apart. I am currently a guild officer of The Spellbinders on The Tribunal server of the EverQuest game.
INTERESTS: When I'm not in school I enjoy sleeping, eating, watching tv,
daydreaming, writing, and reading. I don't do much in the way of physical activity lately as I'm extremely tired all the time from Epstein-Barr Virus. I was finally diagnosed after suffering from it for several years. Unfortunately there is no cure for it and really not much in the way of treatment for it. I know I should eat better and excercise but I'm always too tired. When I'm feeling up to it I help my father (who is now retired) at his workshop.
HOBBIES / OBSSESSIONS: I obsess over my ideas, stories, comic books, tv, etc.
OLD OBSESSION: The character of Krycek (portrayed by excellent actor Nicholas Lea on the X-Files. Villains are just so damned cool!
I'm totally obsessed with Laurie Holden aka Marita Covarrubias (of the X-Files) and have started my own mailing list (it used to be at onelist which sold to egroups which sold to yahoo) and a now defunct message board dedicated to her. I gave up plans on working on her unofficial fanclub. Catseye does a much better job running her Laurie Holden site than I ever could (I will link it as soon as I find the url). Since these are old obsessions I'd like to add that I was a total Michael Jackson fan when I was about 7 years old. I also loved watching Richard Simmons-- whom I met when I was on homeleave a few years ago. He was really sweet.
RECENT OBSESSION: I was obsessed with Nick, but my obsession for Laurie overshadowed it. I toyed with fanfics with Robin and Nightwing. My Robin & Spoiler Message Board was closed down due to beseen no longer being able to offer free services. I still think they make an adorable couple. I had a webpage for awhile but each time the place providing the space deleted my data or shut down. My current one at atozasia.com cannot be edited as I can no longer login for some reason. Nightwing and Huntress are a cool couple too, but I'm liking the pairing of Nightwing and Oracle. I miss Chuck Dixon on Robin and Birds of Prey though. For awhile I was obsessed with Charmed because of the character Cole, portrayed by Julian McMahon. But the writing in the 5th season totally sucked so I bailed as soon as Cole was killed off.
CURRENT OBSESSION: I am currently a HUGE fan of Nip/Tuck. As of the labor day marathon I'm also a fan of the show 24. You can see more info on both shows at FX Official Website. I'm a huge fan of Julian McMahon now. I like to visit the McMahoniacs forum (I need to confirm the url), and Becky's charismatic-wonder.net site. Like I mentioned above I am currenly obsessed with the online game EverQuest. I run the EverQuest mailing list. I'm still toying with the idea of writing Charmed fanfics in which I ignore or correct the grave errors the Charmed writers made. I'm also considering some Nip/Tuck fics but the only things I can think of would be considered porn..
Oh, I also like to drop by and read Wil Wheaton's website. He's hilarious! His work reminds me alot of Dave Barry.
OLD FAVORITE COMICS: AZRAEL, BATMAN, BATMAN CHRONICLES, DETECTIVE COMICS,
FLASH, GOTHAM KNIGHTS, GREEN ARROW, GREEN LANTERN, IMPULSE, LEGIONNAIRES, LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, NIGHTWING, ROBIN, SHADOW OF THE BAT, SUPERBOY, TITANS, and YOUNG JUSTICE.
I voluntarily dropped SUPERBOY-- but may pick it up again. I involuntarily dropped AZRAEL, GREEN ARROW, IMPULSE, LEGIONNAIRES, LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES, and YOUNG JUSTICE. The reason being they are not available on this island. I would probably read BIRDS OF PREY as well but it also was not available.
Not that I'm bitter, mind you. ;-)
Quite a few of the comics have been cancelled and some revamped. Some of them just got too boring to continue reading. I currently read LEGION, BATMAN, NIGHTWING, BIRDS OF PREY, GREEN ARROW, BATGIRL, GOTHAM KNIGHTS, and ROBIN. I've found most of them to be lacking lately. Nightwing is inconsistent under Devin Grayson's pen. Her Titans stories were unbearable when she was on that title. Batgirl.. I don't know why I read it because it's not very good. Green Arrow is about to change writers. Gotham Knights is actually really good under Scott Beatty's pen. Robin really started to suck after Chuck Dixon left but Spoiler's character got fleshed out a bit more. I hear Jon, the current writer, is departing soon. I hope the new writer is better. The writers changing around is what ruined Superboy. I don't think I will continue reading the current TITANS stories bc the Graduation Day story that led to it was an atrocity and so far the comic has sucked. As much as I disliked the characters not being written in character under Peter David's pen, I liked that it was at least funny. The new one has out of character and gloom. It's just too depressing to read.
Btw, all of these are DC Comics.
FAVORITE TV CHANNELS: FX, the SCI-FI Channel, The Cartoon Network, TNT and the educational channels like The HISTORY channel, TLC, A&E, DISCOVERY, etc.
I can no longer get local stations like FOX.
FORMER FAVORITE TV SHOWS: (in alphabetical order) The Adventures of Sinbad, The Batman & Robin Animated Series, Beavis & Butthead, Charmed, The Commish, The Daily Show, Daria, Dharma & Greg, Dracula The Series, Due South, ER, Forever Knight, Friday The 13th The Series, Hercules, Highlander the Animated Series, Highlander the series, John Woo's 'Once A Thief', King of the Hill, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Make Me Laugh, The Man Show, Northern Exposure, The Pirates of Dark Water, The Pretender, Profiler, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, The Simpsons, Sliders, Star Trek (TNG, DS9, & VOYAGER), South Park, That 70's Show, Twin Peaks, War of The Worlds the Series, Who's Line Is It Anyway, Will & Grace, World's Funniest, Xena: Warrior Princess, The X-Files and Win Ben Stein's Money.
CURRENT FAVORITE TV SHOWS: Nip/Tuck and 24. Nip/Tuck is actually the only one I watch on a regular basis as I just saw 24 for the first time on labor day.
FAVORITE PERSON: ME!!
FAVORITE MUNCHIE: Chocolate!
I am still looking for URLs to webpages on my favorite TV shows (like The Commish), pictures of Melinda McGraw (Melissa Scully of the X-Files), fans of Melinda McGraw/Melissa Scully, a new entrance picture, and some sound bytes for my page (see the Contest page).
Currently I'm looking for a way to make a kickass message board like the ones at comicboards.
If you have any useful information, please email Sorceress Su. Note, my old subdimension email no longer works.
