Lift and tires

Next set of improvements:

Hand Throttle - Rubicon Express
You can buy one, or probably even make one. I had RE throw it in when I ordered the lift. It great when the trail gets bumpy, no more jambing the throttle over the rocks.

New muffler and tailpipe
A minor incident with a whoop-de-do and attempting to get myself out resulted in crushing my muffler and bending the tailpipe. I took it to Garys muffler shop and had a new muffler and tailpipe put in. However, not the stock tailpipe. No need to go buggering up another one. Gary, TJ owner himself, rerouted it out of harms way.

Not a stock tailpipe. Should
be pretty hard to mangle this one.

Lift - Rubicon Express 4.5"
After driving around our trails stock for over a year (and banging my undersides), it was time to lift. I chose the RE 4.5" lift mostly because they were the 'best-bang-for-the-buck'. Yes it is a bit more expensive than some of the other lift kits, but in that price it included all the basic pieces (including the rear driveline option and shocks) to effectively lift the jeep. While the RE CV slip yoke eliminator can be a bit controversial, it is not THE BEST, however it is strong enough for me for now and gets the job done, and did not cost too much extra.

33" tires - BFG MT TA
Along with a lift comes bigger tires. Got a good deal on these tires used. Only had to buy the rims and get them mounted. Currently I have the wider tires, but when they wear out I'm contemplating having a set of narrow ones also (for normal driving) and leave the wide ones for some trail driving where wider is better.

After a lift and new meats.
