I John Carson of the County of Burke
And State of North Carolina was born
in the Kingdom of Ireland. Provance of
Ulster and County of Farmanaugh in the
year of ou Lord 1752 - I shipd at Londondory
for AMerica in June 1773 and landed
at NeucastleAnow Dallaer State in September ensuing, traveled
up in to the Stat of Pensilvenia Stayd
in that State untill May 1775 Shipt from
Philidelphya for Nubern in this state
from Nubern I traveld up in to Burke County.
In the Month of February or March there was a
draft for soldears to go against the tories which
was invadedbelow Crosscreek now Feaattville.
This was cald the Crosscreek Espadistian I vol
anteerd in Capt Wm Moors Company and
was Elected Insign by the Company which
was the rool in them times for the soldears
to Elect them and officers before we got
down to Cosscreek the tories was defated
at Moors Bridge and all dessarts so no fite
ing don by us - We retorn home Coln Beckman
was the Commander - Next service that
offered was a Company of rangers Com
manded by Capt-Ruben White I volanteerd
in his Company and was alected Insign
by the Company Our duty was to range
in the Mountains between the Whites and
Chericees before our three months tour was
out we were calld in thinking there was no
of the Indans lurking out
