Lord, please favour us that we may bring peace everywhere we go. May
we be of those who bring consensus and unity –not of those who divide. May we able to
sow love where there is hatred, forgiveness where there is suffering, belief where there
is doubt, hope where there is none, light where there is darkness and joy where there is
sorrow.
O Lord, please help us to be of those who cover faults rather than see
them, of those who console rather than seek consolation, of those who are understanding
rather than expect understanding, of those who love rather than want to be
loved.
May we be like rain, without discrimination, giving life wherever it
flows; like the sun, without discrimination, enlightening all existence with its light;
like earth which, although everything steps on it, gives its benefaction without
withholding a thing, and like night which enfolds and covers all that is shameful and at
fault –favour us to be thus.
May it be our portion to join the ranks of those hands which
give, not
take. May we join the ones who are forgiven because they are forgiving; who are born with
Truth, live with Truth, die with Truth and who are born into eternal life.
