For those of you who do not know, Canada's
'Sugar Jones' was formed through the
Canadian Edition of the series 'POPSTARS'.
Over thousands of females from across
Canada Auditoned for the all female supergroup.
EVentually 35 were sent to Toronto for the
'Popstars Bootcamp'. The 25 girls were
narrowed down difficultly to 10 finalists. The
10 finalists were sent home, and would be
notified personally by the judges
(Billie Holiday, LoneEagle CEO, and Universal
Music Heads) whether they had made the group.
The group was orginally casted as Marla Berlman,
Sahara, Julie , Maiko and Mirella. However Marla
However Marla was fired from the group after
it was revealed she had taken one of the
Popstars Finalists Purse and had spent over
2500$ in credit card charges. It was also revealed
Marla had a Police Record, which disqualified
her from 'Popstars'. However Universal heads,
and Lone Star Eagle's CEO pulled together, & all
decided mutally that Andrea was the one to go to
and it was indeed a match made in heaven.
SugarJones released their debut CD 'SugarJones'
on June 26th 2001, which spawned the #1 Single
'Days Like That', The Album also debuted @ #2.
