SUJI - ebiograph - Childhood
A few incidents of childhood ... I would never forget. One of getting locked in the classroom with my classmates. The class teacher had locked all of us (I don't remember why, may be some punishment!) and the scene was worth imagining - we all were peeping out of the classroom window, asking for help as if we would starve there and the world would come to an end. Those were the days ...
Then there was this incident related to my having long nails: silly, but true. For some chocolates, we were all fighting and in that spur of a moment, I scratched a girl classmate's face. Don't ask me what happened after that, my nails always are in shape, I guess ...
I also remember playing a the role of a doctor in a skit staged in the annual function. My parents still remind me of that role saying that I could have staged the same in my real life. It is another story that as a child (and still do so), I hated the hospital as if it was a hell and the last place I would like to go to.
Moving forward ... Classes I to V. I was now the class monitor and taking part in different activities. At this age, the driving factor to do any activity was always that one small moment of success and the amount of appreciation given to me by my parents and teachers for doing something that made them proud..
As a child, I used to read a lot of comics and have a huge collection of Amar Chitra Kathas and Champaks (Just a second, if you were a kid today, things would be a lot different) Television was not known to the township in those days, so today's sources of entertainment were unknown ...
