Parade.

Parade Cover Artists name: Prince and the revolution.
Album title: Parade / Music from the motion picture Under the Cherry Moon
Release date: March 31, 1986
No. of tracks: 12
Top chart position: 2

Lyrics:

Album notes:

Prince doing a movie-soundtrack again. "Parade" is a very special album that contains some very special material indeed. Prince has been experimenting with some new styles and has even included an instrumental track, his first and last of the kind. This is truly a soundtrack.
It contains a lot of strings and horns and the like, a couple of silent ballads, some rock 'n' roll, a french sounding song and two of his best songs ever; "Kiss" and "Sometimes It Snows In April".
If you ever get around to it, you should study the song "Sometimes It Snows In April", it is a beautiful melancholic song with one of the best, if not the best, lyrics Prince has ever written.

Band notes:

Now this is the last record Prince recorded with The Revolution, sad but true. The Revolution had been boosted a little for the occasion making the final line-up this:
Lisa Coleman : Keyboards and Voice
Wendy Melvoin : Guitars and Voice
Sheila E. : Drums and Voice
    Eddie M. : Saxophone
    Bobby Z : Drums
Brown Mark : Bass and Voice
Matt Fink : Keyboards and Voice
    Miko Weaver : Guitar
    Eric Leeds : Saxophone
    Atlanta Bliss : Trumpet
And a 67-piece orchestra led by Clare Fischer.

Chart notes:

Parade did reasonably well in the charts, peaking at no.2 on the R&B-chart and no.3 on the Pop-chart.
Three singles were released. The most successfull of them were "Kiss" that held on to the first spot on the Pop-chart for 2 weeks and on the R&B-chart for 4 weeks. Quite a success.
The other two singles were "Mountains" that reached no.23 on the Pop-chart and no.15 on the R&B-chart and "Anotherloverholenyohead" that reached no.63 on the Pop-chart and no.18 on the R&B-chart.
