Album notes:

Prince goes acoustic on this album, and he does it very well indeed. I was incredibly surprised when i first put on this CD and heard the opening notes of "The Truth" with its very sharp and simple acoustic guitar. It was beautiful !!
The feel of the album is much more laid back and bluesy than the very hard and funky sound of some of the other material from "Crystal Ball". Personally I like this Prince very, very much. He manages to strike the perfect balance between purely acoustic instrumentation and the occasional electric instrument, which a lot of the other artists who have made "unplugged" records haven't found. He is only acoustic if it is the better choice, so to speak.
To the Prince fanatic this album must be a refreshing and wonderful new thing from a man who just continues to surprise us again and again. To the rest of the world this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship ;-)
If this album wasn't part of the extremely expensive "Crystal Ball"-set, that is. It is a petty that this album probably will never reach a broader audience since it is only available as part of the "Crystal Ball"-set. Prince has made a masterpiece and has served it only to his most supportive fans. It is somewhat an honor to us, but too bad for the rest.

Band notes:

This is a different album in terms of the line-up. Prince does most of the playing himself but he has had some help in the proces, especially from the beautiful and god-gifted Rhonda Smith.
    Prince : Whatever.
Rhonda Smith : Bass, vocals, percussion and co-writer on two songs.
Kirk Johnson : Percussion, vocals and beat programming.
    K. Dyson : Vocals and percussion.
    Mike Scott : Guitar.

Chart notes:

    Not ready yet.
