Erik C.'s Fan Experience

I saw Streets on February 19, 1984 at the Providence Civic Center in Providence, RI. They were the opening band for Loverboy. I was really into the show, and I think the crowd was receptive to the band, too. Steve Walsh was awesome, but he never tried to be a "frontman" for the band. That's what made Streets a great band: they weren't into rock'n'roll posturing, they were all serious about the music! They played the exact song list that appears on the live CD. I remember Steve was in great voice, but he was sweating profusely. He really seemed to be in his element! It meant a lot to me to take in that show, because I still think "1st" is a great album, and the live CD reminds me of how great they sounded in concert that night! There were only 4 musicians in this band, and they cranked out a credible and well-crafted brand of rock. With more exposure, this band could have been one of the great rock bands of the 80's. If anybody out there is even remotely into Streets or the music of Steve Walsh, you simply have to listen to this live CD. You'll love it!
