A World Without Love

From a lofty purch in my own minds eye,
The thought of which could make me cry
I sit and wonder patiently
If it werent for love, where would we be?

It has 2 sides like a double edged sword
A gentleness and a side abhored.
But from all that I have lived and been,
Though bittersweet, love worth is seen.

It gives us a joy, that takes the place,
Of misery and lonely's face.
For all that resides here and above,
Between love and nothing..I'll take Love.

"The Prisoner"

For days on end the time just crawls
And to live seems but an endless quest
Of racing rats and climbing walls.
From early man till the end of things,
From summer thru the end of spring,
We plod along just hoping for
A kind word or an open door.
But the world, it seems, is apathetic
To our woes and our tribulation.
Better t'would be to hide inside,
Walls of stone and our foolish pride.
And there are those that choose that route,
Never to seek that which they crave.
They hide inside and look through the glass,
As the parade of life by their windows pass.
But just when it seems that all hope is lost
And living isn't worth the cost,
The prisoner vows for one more try,
To kiss the land and touch the sky.
And so with trembling knees they go,
Expecting nothing but a slamming door,
And yet with every timid step,
Fear slowly loses its mighty grip,
And the seeds of hope forth proudly spring
And lonliness slowly lessens its sting.
they're back again with heads held high,
And truly they CAN touch the sky,
When all is lost and seems to end,
The thing to do is to try again.

April 1989...No Title

The night grows dim....
She's leaving him....
And the passion burns....
His love she spurns....
And all seems lost.
He watches as she slowly fades,
Knowing he'll never see her again..
He will love no more...
And from the anguish seed,
Grows man he use to be.

Dream yourself away from here,
Where eternity awaits us both.
This place is painfully near,
Only one step would set it apart,
I never realized how close
It has always been to my heart,
Kisses for all the words you say,
Ethreal laughter disappears into the sky,
It's only a dream away,
To grasp this perfect moment to realize,
To live in a place I've dreamed of for us,
Away from the eyes that scrutinize,
We have the love no one can see,
I dreamed this world to you,
You're the missing piece of me.

"The Weekend"

All my senses are ablaze,
Atune to a face, a voice, a name.
The weekend we escaped, us two,
My heart will never be the same.

She gently walked into my mind,
Where oft her image spent its time.
The sweet, sweet song that was her voice,
Caused hearts to scream in loud rejoice.

And Wanton was our special time,
Two souls as one, and so sublime.
The hours melted, the minutes flew,
Oh, cursed time, what must I do,
To take control of the seconds too?
Can time just cease, become like space,
And leave us in that special place?

A place of love, so sweet and pure,
I could there live with her, I'm sure.
Leave not her arms, her warm embrace,
Look full into an angels face.

Her speech is but a whisper yet,
So soft, and sweet and picturesque.
A remnant of a gentle breeze,
That softly strokes the cool green trees.

My ears consume sound never heard,
They drink the nector of every word.
The voice still echoes in my head,
Remembering every she said.

They both come back, the time is past,
And sadly this will be the last.
The wind that brought her stirs again,
And sweeps her off into my dreams.

As long as minds so free and bold,
Grace mortal man both young and old.
We'll wander there and pray for when,
We'll never be apart again.
