"Poetry By Larry, The Virginian"

THE PRINCE AND PRINCESS

A Prince, his armor so battered and torn, his heart so lost and badly worn.
Rode his faithful steed through kingdoms so strange, many many times,
taking both out of range.
Looking and searching for something, he knew not what, concern for
himself, he cared not.
Riding one night, his kingdom end oh so near, a whisper from afar
answered, his ear did hear.
As soothing as the wind on a hot summers day, this voice he heard, from
so far away.
Gently she spoke, so soft to his ear, deep in his heart, he could feel her
near.
Nightfall came with dreams in his head, feelings so strong he could not
shed.
She came to him so beautiful, a sight to behold, eyes sparkling bright her
hair made of gold.
Sleep was peaceful for once that night, old ghost lay sleeping, no battles to
fight.
Sunrise found him shining so bright, no dents could be found, by late that
night.
Sunrise next day found him headed her way, not sure of himself or what
he would say.
His heart led him on, speaking softly to his head, I am your guide,
Listen to me, peace she will give you, your fears to shed.
She is your Princess, this you will know, it is she I have shown you, to her
you must go.
She is so gentle, this Princess of the North, stand tall, be brave, a beautiful
love will spring forth.
Fate has decided your hurts should cease, together your love, such beauty,
will release.
Children with flowers, look in awe, at a Prince and a Princess that no one
ever saw.
Smiling and laughing, hand in hand, the Prince and the Princess, they
cross the land.
The children they follow, their smiles so bright, never have they seen such
a beautiful sight.
Many months have passed since that dark lonely night, when that whisper
he heard,
Gave back his heart and strength to fight.
Though the months have passed, their love is still strong, something meant
to be will
never be gone..........!!!

A Trip to Remember

Pam was his navigator, they couldn't get lost
they were on the Chicago toll roads, paying the cost.
You didn't tell, that was her excuse
To late then, oh whats the use.
A half days ride took all day long,
You didn't tell me she said, I was not wrong.
Southward they drove, on that second day
Good thing he watched, and found their way.
This girl from the flatlands, a small hill she saw,
Her eyes wide open, she looked in awe
That ain't no mountain, that bump on the ground
She looked at him smiling, not making a sound.
Knowing her feelings, a warning he gave,
Tobacco chewing people, to those who don't wave.
Now the cows look funny, with two legs too short
But that is just normal, that you can report.
The tress and the grass were all so green,
Not dark and dreary like he had just seen.
Finally a mountain she did see,
The trees had been cut, now why would that be.
Not knowing any better, she did not understand,
A clearing, a place, for airplanes to land.
This made sense, she thought oh well,
This ain't the truth, but to her should he tell.
Laughing inside at this girl from the north,
Thinking about it, the truth he let forth.
Feeling dumb at such a mistake,
From then on out, what he said, she thought fake.
Once in the mountains, they stopped to eat,
Reading the menu, oh what a feat.
Don't you guys eat food here, she wondered out loud.
Right in the middle of the whole country crowd.
The waitress was patient, and smiled with glee,
Wondering so quietly, from where she could be.
Pam's words said wrong or in a funny tone,
She took their order, like nothing was wrong.
Her order was eaten with such delight,
To him he could not ruin such a wonderful sight.
Road kill skunks, a dish from the south,
There's some things that don't go in your mouth.
Later that night, her tummy did pay,
He felt really bad, he had nothing to say.
A warning at least, would have helped ease the pain,
She was left now to grunt and to strain.

His Rose

In a garden he walked, many roses to see,
Cast his eyes on one, this ones for me.
Hiding behind, hidden from sight,
Trying to avoid the suns loving light.
Straight to this one, directly he went,
One so beautiful, one heaven sent.
Each petal so soft and perfectly made,
Gently and softly in his hand it was laid.
Out through the garden, his rose in his hand,
This one more special than all in the land.
Time passed slowly, not giving up, not letting go,
Knowing one day all the love it will show.
Deep in his heart, everywhere that he went,
Loving this rose, the one heaven sent.

Sleeping

The morning sunlight, through the window did show,
Danced on her face, such a beautiful glow.
Sleeping so peaceful, this beautiful thing,
The birds began a song, to her they would sing.
Quietly he watched, her love he could see,
Thankful for her, forever he would be.
Her face wore a smile, and this made him know,
Whever he went, her love would go.

The Creation

It was time for Him, to create a real special one,
One to admire when His work was done.
His best work ever, this would be,
For all the world, to look and see.
To her He gave all the normal things,
But with her, He used golden strings.
He spun her hair from threads of gold,
Her lips so soft, for the world to behold.
From the softest of silk He made her skin,
A loving hand to touch, a pleasure to have been.
Her legs made strong, for her to stand tall,
To be a guiding light to one and all.
He gave her his best, such a beauty to see,
Something still lacking, what could it be.
Oh yes He thought, the most important part,
To her He gave, a very, very special heart.
Now go my child, there is work to be done,
There is joy to spread, till each setting sun......

Wings Of Angels

On the wings of angels, there love does fly
the love between them will never die.
Its so hard being so far apart,
But their love still burns, deep in their hearts.
A bond between them, so tightly bound,
this is a love they are glad they found.
His dreams, his thoughts, with her are filled,
when once together, they will both be thrilled.
Happiness is theirs, if they follow their hearts,
One day they know, they will never be apart.
