Like a flower blooms,
She grows more every day.
Though she's only five,
She'll soon be on her way.
Life goes by so fast,
The years just slip away.
Soon I'll be alone,
Without my Connie Rae.
November, 1981
From birth to now,
You've always been there.
From good to bad,
You showed you care.
God up above,
Knows you're the best!
I only need you,
Forget the rest!
"Mother of the Century",
You'll always be.
Beyond the call of duty,
"Mother" to me.

Big Vicky, they called her,
The belle of the ball.
The Amazon Princess!
Come one and come all!
This woman before you,
Will swallow a snake!
It's alive! It's real!
There ain't no mistake!
She handles these reptiles,
Without twitching an eye!
She's immortal some say,
Won't ever die!
When it comes to eating fire,
She tops all the rest.
The flames keep jumping higher,
She's truly the best!
When she does her show,
The whole crowd is stunned.
They can't figure out,
Whether to faint or just run!
I sit in my box,
Night after night,
Watching these people,
Run out in sheer fright!
Fifty cents is all,
That it will take!
To see this show,
And see the snakes!
If I were you,
I'd get mine now.
Come on in,
And beat the crowd!
Summer of 73
You're the bloom that grows in spring,
You're the storm upon the sea.
You're my anchor in that storm,
You're always Dad to me.
Though the bloom of youth is over,
I know you're always there.
And when I face life's turmoils,
I know you'll always care.
You're every poem I ever wrote,
You're every thought I ever had.
You're everything that's dear to me,
You're my one and only Dad.
