"Yummee... A Purple One!"
Day 3
Bulgarian band
BTR was to be our "host" band for two of these gigs and they were on the way to
Kavarna from their gig last night but it was hard to get a time-table for
anything. At this stage, no-one seemed to actually know anything, but John
had been through this before so I just chilled into the background and went
where they wanted me to go…
Eventually, we
ended up going to the site of tomorrow´s sunrise concert, fixing a lot of broken
things and trying to get a sound check/rehearsal done, even though there were
quite a few people around. Not terribly satisfactory but at least we won´t
go into tomorrow´s gig completely in the dark.
It´s an
interesting venue… on a cliff overlooking the ocean and, apparently the perfect
place to watch the sun come up which is when, according to Bulgarian tradition,
everyone sings July Morning!
We shall
see what happens (early) in the morning!
