Solitude
Sometimes solitude
is just what I need
a walk among some of nature's
most beautiful sights
~~~
Giant redwoods
tower over my head
blocking out most of the rays
from the sun
and framing the blue sky
in their beautiful red-brown trunks
and green leaves
~~~
Silence abounds
except for the sounds of nature
birds singing
brook softly babbling
leaves rustling in the wind
Alone... with my solitude
~~~
I smile as the sun warms me
caressing me as its child
But... I see another couple
in the distance
strolling among the walkways
and seeing their hands
entertwined
and the love in their eyes
I start to feel less happy
with my solitude
and more alone with myself
~~~
I wish you were here
so I needn't feel this way
but who are you anyway?
He, whom I've yet to find
I hope one day soon
so soon
that I shall
and then
you and I will stroll
hand in hand
just as they
