Life on the Line
(Anderson)
Hold me here
Pressing against you, I'm glad that you're near
Yet you break my pride
Compel me to show you the things that I hide
And I've found that I can't be all things to all people
Nor everything even to one
I've begun understanding there's nothing but life on the line
Take my hand
And smile that tomorrow won't work as we planned
Just ignore the noise
Surrender your worries and count them as joys
Because nothing that's happened has ever been probable
And probably never will be
Still I hope for tomorrow, and work for the day on the line
Rebecca, please let down your guard
Don't deny me your thoughts, let them flow from your mind
There's only adventure at stake, only life on the line
Drift to sleep
And pray to the Lord that your soul he will keep
Breathe out your fear
Wake up tomorrow and find me still here
For the rest of my life, you will find me here loving you
A thankful and weak little man
Doing all that I can, putting all of my life on the line
