I'm back!  Well, after forever and a day without updating the site, I finally have got around to doing a little bit.  Thanks for your patience!  We just reached 8,000 visits!

Newest site update is the MP3's are up again.  Go check out the MP3 section for details and explanation.  Server should be good, let me know if you have trouble.

Well, alot has happened since I last updated the site.  DG has grown tremendously in the last 8 months.  Many more sites being created, alot of which eclipse mine.  I just don't have the web making talent... but I have decided to make this a niche site.  I will probably dedicate any new updates to rare songs (like in my MP3 section), guitar tablature, and a DG media blitz campaign to increase his popularity.  I will also be adding some personal touches with stories of my adventures w/ Dave, including the trip I took to England this March to hang out with David and Co.

Give me any suggestions or comments please.  Help is welcome!  Send me some more rare songs if you have them.  I am off to do some more work on the site, and will update more soon.  Thanks.

Page updates like hell.  Guitar tab, more reviews, etc.  Added info on the hidden track!  Make sure you subscribe to the mailing list to get up-to-date info on DG's whereabouts.  Single should come out in February, as with the movie.  I would put my money on DG surprising everyone with "Monday Morning" as a single.  It is just so radio-friendly.  We'll have to wait and see though.  Only time will tell.

Movie should be advertised soon.  No word on how many theatres it will be on, especially in the US, etc.

Album rumored to be distributed in the UK in March.  Maybe even the US??

Well, thats it, just surf the site for the updates... I have so much to do that I can't write forever on here.

"White Ladder" was released on November 13 in Ireland on iht Records, DG's own label!  A nine track adventure into a successful experimentation with a new sound.  The album is alot less guitar-driven, with drum-machines and samples throughout.  The tracks are alot dancier than ever before, but DG's constants are all back with just as much flavor as ever.  Great lyrics and beautiful music let the fans know that it is still Gray at his best.  Check the discography, lyrics, tabs, albums, and review sections for more information!

But many people, I being one, wonder why so many great songs he has done the last few years weren't included on the new album.  It seems that he wanted a more cohesive album.  He also experimented alot with a new sound that the other songs did not have.  I would be willing to bet he wants to see what kind of response this new material gathers, and go from there.  I don't see DG evolving into a completely dance-oriented musician, but I see him expanding his horizons to other forms of music.  After all, David has never been known to be a static singer.

Will be updating all of the website to add the new record.  Also, check out the official website at www.davidgray.com.  Ask them why my site isn't linked from there yet!!  Write to me with any reviews, views, etc on the new album, or post it to the mailing list.  Cheers to more great DG material, and to hoping the new record gets HUGE airplay and sales!

Ok, alot of news and rumors about David Gray's new album.  I will try to cover everything I have heard so far.  Some say that the record should be out TODAY in Ireland!  While others say it won't be till his shows in December.  Most of these people who have given the information have been Irish and said to have heard it on radio shows which have been playing his new songs for a week or so (by the way, they say they are great!).

We'll start with rumors on the name of the record.  Everyone agrees the first word will be "White" but not everyone agrees on the second.  So far I have heard "White Ladder", "White Letters", "White Landing" and even "White Elephant."  They all sound rather strange to me, but I'm sure there is something in the record that makes the title seem very appropriate.  Take a look at Flesh.  Once you've heard the title track, the title seems so fitting.

David Gray has decided to record and manage the material on his own label, "Right Records."  This seems like a very smart move to me because he holds the cards in his hand.  He can still have other major labels distribute his music, while making most decisions for himself.  So far I have only heard that he will be distributed by the Irish label, "Grapevine".  I have no idea whether it will only be inside of Ireland.  We can only hope... as far as other deals, we will have to wait for the word.

The movie that DG is supposed to be on the soundtrack of has still not shown itself anywhere.  Rumors have it that it is a major hollywood production.  It is fairly certain that "Sail Away" will be on the soundtrack, but also, a new song that should be on the new record is called "This Year's Love" which is also the title of that movie.  It sounds like too big of a coincidence to not also be on the movie soundtrack.  The song is described as very good, with some interesting piano.

Song listing of could-be tracks:  "Sail Away", "Please Forgive Me", "This Year's Love", a few others, and all the other unreleased stuff that has accumulated the last few years.

This is a very exciting time.  I hope the album is amazing, as it probably will be, and somehow gets the attention he has deserved for so long.

---- I also updated the guitar tab page, so check it out

The MP3s are back!! I am using my own computer as an FTP server, so it may not always be up, but it should be pretty reliable, and now everyone can trade rare songs! So check out MP3s for more information and downloads.

More guitar tabs up. More lyrics to newer songs. David Gray has been recording, and rumor has it that he will be releasing the new record by early '99. But he STILL has no international label backing!! Lets hope from now till then something happens so the entire world can enjoy this man!

Colm O'Riordan writes:
David Gray plays the opera house in Cork on Dec 13th! don't think the tickets are on sale yet ..
also a CD featuring artists from last year's Liss Ard festival is to be released. Features 2 D. Gray tracks - don't know if they are live takes or not. Falling Free and Silver Lining i think - could be totally wrong .. not too sure about release date .

MP3 section has been taken down due to a loss of FTP space. If anyone has any to offer, please mail me.

Reviews and concerts sections updated with a review of the recent Galway, Ireland gig. Colman Duffy wrote an excellent review for what sounds like another amazing gig.

New songs from the recent show: Babylon, Heartland Of Mystery and So Far Away. No lyrics yet...

More guitar tab added and trading post updated.

Fixed up some lyrics and added a few more. "Pale Blue Eyes" isn't a DG song but in fact a cover of an old Velvet Underground song. Shows how much I know about any of these older bands. Of course the song "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye", the song David has taken a liking of playing lately is also a cover song. It actually covers three songs, "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" by Soft Cell (Oh tainted love!), "Into The Mystic" by Van Morrison, who is DG's favorite musician and an old Dylan song, can't remember the name.

Will work on some guitar tabs that I have been slacking on. Also have to catch up on e-mails that I need to return. I have fixed the problems with my CD recorder and will be able to start making more CDs. The second volume will also be done soon. If you have any new material that I may not have, please let me know and help add to the collection.

A few things that maybe someone can help me work out:
1. There was a rumor of David Gray doing a project with the band Orbital in '97. Anyone who has any info please let me know.
2. I heard that DG wrote and played the theme music to some British sitcom. It may sound far-fetched, but you never know...

Keep posted
