D.I.E. last live
-Then Hibiya Yagai Ongakudo.
TERU: At that time, I worked with D.I.E. all day long. I didn't know what to say...how to talk to him.
TAKURO: "Don't quit." Many fans got angry.
TE: Got angry.
TA: Many fans got upset when HISASHI broke his foot. TERU said many times during the concert on MC, "HISASHI is okay." But the audience shouted "Kyaa HISASHI!" and were crying. "You guys, I told you...worry about that, oraa!!" (Laughs)
TE: (Laughs) ... I thought saying "Don't quit" was different.
JIRO: I thought D.I.E. finished what he wanted to do with GLAY. However, one has to live their own life. I told myself that each member of GLAY has to live their own life.
HISASHI: Our band's members got along well... I felt a foreboding that good things won't last.
TA: I wondered, "Is it alright if D.I.E. left?" However, we needed a replacement. And then we reached [HEAVY GAUGE]. It was a good result for us because we thought that it was no good to depend on synthesizers. We prefer guitars or bass, which have a stout sound.

-You guys went to New York twice and came back twice.
TA: We appeared on Kouhaku for the second time. At the time, I was impressed by (Namie) Amuro. She sang [CAN YOU CELEBRATE]. HISASHI and I watched her stage performance... When she finished, HISASHI turned to me. I saw that his eyes were red. He said, "... This year is akagumi (red wins)." (Laughs)
(aciel's note: Kouhaku is annual competition between red [females] and white [males]. HISASHI was so impressed by Amuro's performance, he was convinced that the red side would win that year).
JI: After that, Oyaji forgot his song's lyrics. "Don't forget!" On the other hand, Akko sang her song, [I want to tell you~], very well. Her mic was even near her navel.
TA: (Her voice) came out, clothes and all. (Laughs)
(aciel's note: I think that TAKURO and JIRO are talking about Akko's powerful singing voice.)
HI: And TAKURO pointed out Kenichi Mikawa by using a penlight. (Laughs)
TA: That's true. The staff gave me a penlight. I asked, "What should I use this for?" And before long, Mikawa appeared and sat in front of me. Then I saw the back of his head...
HI: I said the TAKURO, "Stop! Stop! Don't do that. You will be punished." I was embarrassed. (Laughs)
TA: Right. Then the person turned around suddenly. It wasn't Mikawa. It was Korokke.
TE: What did we do in early '99?
JI: Rehearsal for the Dome Tour. Snowboarding was forbidden. For a broken leg, anyway.
HI: Explosion gave me something.
TA: It was HISASHI's birthday.
JI: It was Professor TAKURO who produced everything and made the booking.
TA: Yes, I did. [OVERDRIVE] with (me) on guitar and Yuki on vocals opened for HISASHI.
HI: At the rehearsal, "Did Judy and Mary come?" "I'm not sure but maybe they came." We had such conversations. Sometimes I was asked, "Which Judy and Mary song do you like?"
JI: And then we decided to make a birthday song for HISASHI. We met together an hour earlier at the rehearsal studio in the Dome. And we had a secret meeting. At the time, when we were recording, HISASHI suddenly appeared. "Ah!" We were speechless. (Laughs)
HI: I thought I reached the rehearsal studio 5 minutes early. But everybody was already there. And everybody had their instruments. I thought I was late.
TA: "Please knock before you come in. We have a young girl!" (Laughs)
TE: The room had a strange atmosphere. (Laughs)
JI: We (had already) made each sentence of the lyrics. It was strange. (Laughs)

-You guys did such a thing when you released [Winter, again]?
HI: The [Winter, again] PV was taken on a very, very cold day. TERU was absorbed in his contact lenses. (Laughs)
TE: It was problematic. My eyes were dead. People told me that my eyes had no power. I thought it was cool so I started wearing them without thinking. But it became a big problem.
HI: It's like Marilyn Manson, who has fantastic, dark eyes. (Laughs)
TA: The video where you appeared with those contacts was the only video. It's valuable.

aciel's note: I was upset too when I heard that D.I.E. was leaving GLAY. I couldn't believe it. But it happened. Soon after, GLAY went to New York to shoot a PV for [BE WITH YOU]. They went to New York twice at the end of 1998.
