ROBOTS & ELECTRONIC BRAINS

Black Helicopters, Hammered Gods (white) 12"

It's like "1987" all over again except this time the sampling technology is rather less rudimentary and there's no hairy Scottish pranksters shouting about Princess Di's (as was) dress. Basically, this record is like the morphing robot in Terminator 2; it starts off sampling one tune and somehow ends up looping out with another. You can play Spot the Sample (I won't) for the 25 minutes duration or you can just get into the Catholic taste in stolen tracks that are loving caressed together. From music hall to TOTP to hip hop and back in one astounding trip.
