Crimson Blue, Modern Love (Violet Cry) CD
Experience has taught me that when independent bands send an enormous
glossy and expensive press pack, they're invariably compensating for
their lack of talent. Luckily for Crimson Blue, despite
showing all the signs, their press pack was a red herring, and quite
well-informed to boot. The band have been compared to Grace Slick,
Jefferson Airplane and a host of hippy-ish tie-dye merchants. And,
while Julia Ferguson is not as wired and unique as Slick, the musical
comparisons are valid and Crimson Blue are the kind of band that'd go
down a bomb at sunny open-air festivals. music1@davis.uswest.net
