ROBOTS & ELECTRONIC BRAINS

Foetus, Deaf/Ache (both Thirsty Ear) both CD

Originally released in the early 80's under the name You've got Foetus on Your Breath, these re-mastered, re-vamped, re-packaged re-releases are J.G.Thirlwell's attempt at breaking the bootleg monopoly on his first two albums (of which only 1500 ("Ache") and 2000 ("Deaf") were ever pressed).

Both releases are sparse proto-Foetus, anguished chest-beating combined with angry panel-beating. A cut-up cacophony of found-sounds and ranting, tortured instruments and ambient interludes. Amazingly, 16 years after they were first set free in the world they still sound fresh and ahead of much of the industro-pack.

I don't know if they're available domestically, but you can probably find out from Thirsty Ear, 274 Madison Ave, Suite 804, New York, NY 10016. ThirstyE@aol.com
