Inhaler, Volume (Seriously Groovy) CD
Inhaler are spawned from the same source as No Wings, Fins or Fuselage
(reviewed elsewhere) and explore similar space/paranoia themes but
with a hardcore edge. Taking computer beats and sampled loops and
burying them under the kind of shouty jaggedness you'd expect from
Korn or Steve Albini, they navigate a parabolic course across tracks
where the techno influences dominate through industrial and down into
hardcore. Genre boundaries are where the interesting fusions
occur---Digital Hardcore Recordings, Gunshot/Napalm Death, KLF/ENT,
Godflesh/Techno Animal etc, etc---and Inhaler are right on the borders
