Iris, Dark ground coffee (demo tape)
This lot favour big sounds, long songs and a gothy vocal style, last
seen at the Boatrace and--probably due to me feeling like crap--did
not impress a great deal, but this tape makes more sense. Titles like
"Mother India" betray the fact that two-thirds of the band are Asian,
but it's otherwise hard to tell. Best track here is "Hurry Krishna"
where choppy thrashy guitars give way to an extended Krishna chant and
more guitars. Sadly, best song from the gig "10p piece" is not
