Like a Tim, I like it when you don't like it (Geist) CD
Sadly, Tim van Leijden is out of luck on this occasion...because I
like it very much. It being a spasmodic splicing of Mu-Ziq
and Speedy J; clinically clean arhythmic beats, unhinged melodies,
random bass splurges and a strange noise like when you run a plastic
ruler along a zip. The star track, "1997" (and the closely-related
"1998"), is a version of the theme from "Going for Gold" that plays on
Hades TV, an excruciating riff trumpeted ad nauseum over chuckling
synth and spastic drums and Speedy J himself shows up with a savage
remix to round the album off. First I've heard on Geist, but not the
last.
