World Wide Web. It may be a small world but the
internet is growing at an amazing rate. Getting your pages listed by the major search
engines and directories is not an easy task. There is a huge amount of information online
about how the search services rank web sites as well as tips, tricks and techniques that
allegedly will help to boost your rankings.
Do they work? We're not sure. Articles from different resources have come to
many of the same conclusions. We think these are very important .
META tags are lines of text read by some search engine bots.They are found in the head of the HTML document before the <body> tag. At the very least they should contain the description and keywords for your site.
LINKS The engines and directories are working on ways to increase the relevancy of their searches. Popularity of your site measured by sites linking back to yours is one technique they are using. Read this article about the "smarter engines" from Jesse Burst at ZDNet.
