This Month's Poll:
Liverpool's defence has long been the heart of our problems. Traditionally,
the team had little trouble bringing in the goals but struggled at the back.
Gerard Houllier brought in Sami Hyypia and Stephane Henchoz to fix the problems,
at the expense of Jamie Carragher...and Dominic Matteo perhaps? With speculation
that a new left-back is arriving at the club, that would leave Dom with a chance
to return as centre half.
Which is Liverpool's best central defence pairing?
This poll closes on 31 Dec 1999

Last Month's Poll:
"Is the Red Revolution heading in the right direction?"
RESULT:
Yes - 64%
No - 24%
Not Sure - 12%
COMMENT: That's just the way it is. How better to sum up the poll result?
This poll began on 1 Oct 1999, not long after the Merseyside Derby loss. After the drab
draw with Aston Villa, doubts about Gerard Houllier's wisdom lingered and visitors to
this side gave his Red Revolution a no confidence vote. A subsequent loss to Southampton only
worsened the damage.
When fortunes turned for the better, Liverpool chalked up wins over Chelsea and Sunderland.
By the time this poll closed on 25 Nov 1999, the team had gone 6 games without defeat, explaining
the feel-good feeling among the fans.
More wins, more confidence...simple really....
