For awhile August blankly stared at the TV. Her mind was on Taylor. He was being so helpful. IT was as if he actually cared. She really hoped that he did. She sighed and leaned her head onto Taylor's pillow. His scent was strong. She smiled to herself and gazed down to where Taylor was sitting. He looked so happy. That's one thing that August loved about him. He was almost always happy, and if you were sad around him, it would rub off on you. She shook her head and drifted off to sleep.
"August"
"Hhhmmmm?"
"Wake up"
"Wha?" she asked groggily
"I said wake up" smiled Taylor
August slowly opened her eyes and looked into Taylor's bright blue eyes.
"Hi Tay, whats up?"
"Apparently, not you"
August and Taylor laughed, and August swatted at him.
"Hey! That wasn't funny!" she laughed
"Then why are you laughing?" he teased.
"I'm not"
She immediately stopped laughing. She sat with a stern face, but a smile was forming at the corner of her mouth. This sent Taylor into another fit of laughter. Soon, his face was red with laughter and he was about to cry. August sat up and pushed him in the chest. He fell off the bed and started rolling on the floor with laughter.
"Its not nice to laugh at an injured person, especially one that was injured by your fans."
Taylor immediately stopped laughing and looked her straight in the eyes.
"You're right. I shouldn't be laughing."
August nodded.
"But you have to admit. That was pretty funny."
August nodded again.
"I'll be out in a minute, k?" she said
"Ok. I'll be in the hall if you need any help"
"Thanks Tay, you're the best"
"Yea, I know"
August laughed
"Tay, you better leave. Your ego's getting bigger by the second."
Tay made a pouty face , bent his head and trudged out of the room. August shook her head a started to get up.
"This is pretty easy" she thought to herself. "I should be better by the time we go to New York." Soon, she was on her feet, with one hand on the top bunk to keep he from falling.
"Now," she said "where are my crutches? Hmmm" she looked around the room in search of the crutches. She spotted them in the corner. She tried to walk over there, but it didn't feel comfortable. "Maybe if I do that some more later, I can speed up this rehab thing" she whispered to herself. She grabbed the crutches, positioned them under her arms, and made her way out of the room. She opened the door, only to find Taylor sitting at the top of the stair case. This would be the perfect chance to scare him. August slipped her crutches onto the floor and slowly, yet painfully walked over behind Taylor.
"This should be fun" she thought to herself.
She kept walking until she was directly behind him. He had headphones on, so he couldn't hear her anyway. She couldn't hear any noise coming from downstairs, which was extremely odd. She figured that Diana and Walker must of taken them somewhere. As she made her way closer to him, she noticed that he would start singing at certain parts in the song. She could tell that he listened to this song a lot. He would just sing his heart out. He was singing to Summertime Blues.
"No there ain't no cure for the Summertime Blues" he sang
Finally, August was directly behind him.
"One.....Two......Three...." she counted to herself
She put her hands above his shoulders, and on three, slapped them down, scaring him so much that he started to scream. August fell backwards onto the carpet laughing so hard she was crying. Taylor quickly turned his music off and turned around, only to find August in a fit of laughter.
"So, you think that was funny"
August was laughing so hard that she couldn't answer him. She nodded and kept on laughing.
