STING IN VIETNAM

October 17, 1996 - Associated Press

By Margie Szaroleta

(HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM)--Right now, you could walk down the streets of Ho Chi Mihn City and see Sting's face as much as Ho Chi Minh's. Sting brought his current tour through Vietnam and is probably the biggest Western rock act to play there. A steady stream of fans arrived early in hopes of getting a seat, but some were angry over the price of tickets. A seat cost between 20 and 65 dollars, and for some Vietnamese, 65 dollars is a month's wage. One student suggests to Sting that "he reduce the prices so normal people in Vietnam could attend the show." Sting heads to Australia today.
